Albioma is a leader in solar power in Overseas France, and has been developing this activity in hexagonal France since 2010. In this region, the acquisition of Eneco France in December 2018 has strengthened the Group's position in solar power, a sector that has great development prospects!
History of the business
In 2010, Albioma inaugurated two photovoltaic plants in the South of France, an area that enjoys a large amount of annual sunshine. The first was in Pierrelatte, on a 25 hectare industrial site, with an installed capacity of 7 MWp. Since its commissioning, a flock of sheep has ensured the everyday maintenance of the site, which has almost 100,000 solar panels! The second plant is located in Fabrègues, on a plot of 4 hectares, with an installed capacity of 1.3 MWp. In both cases, particular attention was paid to blending the facilities into the landscape, for example by creating special cladding for plant rooms.
A growing activity in hexagonal France
In a context of strong growth in the photovoltaic market, Albioma ramped up its positioning in this dynamic sector with the acquisition of Eneco France in December 2018. As a specialist in solar energy, Albioma Solaire France, manages a 30 MW photovoltaic fleet spread over roofs of agricultural, tertiary, industrial and residential buildings. Examples include the Fontebasso, Rouches and Patriarche power plants, which stand out in that the power produced is consumed onsite. In addition to meeting the objectives set by the law for the energy transition, this transaction will allow Albioma to develop new innovative solar projects in the South of France.
